The Best Poem Of Vineetha Mekkoth

You

You make me look at myself
Warts and all
I try to run, hide, dissemble
You hold the mirror
My soul flinches
On seeing myself
reflected back at me
I cannot put on make-up
Or wear masks
I'm revealed to myself
A sight which I would rather not have seen
Then you step forward and embrace
I'm a blaze.
The mirror is a lake
I skim the surface and then take flight
The sky is our home
