Victor Okechukwu Anyaegbuna Biography

Victor Okechukwu Anyaegbuna, (Ichie Nwanonukpo II Umuoji) was born on November 11 (Poppy Day) , in the first year of the second half of the twentieth Century, at Aba in Eastern Nigeria, as the first of seven children of same parents, Chief J B C Anyaegbuna (Ichie Nwanonukpo 1 Umuoji) and Mrs. Levinna Idah Anyaegbuna. He attended the elite Government Secondary School, Afikpo in Eastern Nigeria where he was Editor-in-Chief of the school's 'Purple Times' newsletter. Thereafter he attended the University of Nigeria, Nsukka where he graduated with the Bachelor of Science Honours (B.Sc Hons) degree in Biochemistry. During that period he was President of the Society of Biochemistry Students. Upon graduation in 1977 he was enrolled and served the Nigerian National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme at Mkar, Idah and Otukpo all in the old Benue State of Nigeria. Thereafter, in 1979 he was admitted to the College of Medicine of the University of Lagos, Nigeria where he also was Editor-in-Chief of the 'MEDILAG Journal' of Medicine. He graduated as a Medical Doctor and served as an intern at the Nigerian Army Reference Hospital in Kaduna. After this one year service he moved to Bauchi and served briefly at the Specialist Hospital before moving to the General Hospital in Birnin Gwari in Kaduna State. With just two doctors running the entire hospital, he acquired rare surgical skills, excelling in some very rare and challenging cases. After Birnin Gwari he returned to Lagos in 1986 and worked at Women's Medical Center in Victoria Island. He has a stint with Tin Can Hospital in Olodi Apapa before he established Levan Medical Center where he made a mark in general medical practice and excelled in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
Dr. Anyaegbuna is a member of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) , the Association of General and Private Medical Practitioners of Nigeria (AGPMPN) and the American College of Physician Executives (ACPE) . He was also the Chief Medical Officer/Proprietor of Levan Medical Center in Festac, Lagos, Nigeria after which he retired and established the VOA-Levan Initiative for Medical Counsel and Aid.

Victor Okechukwu Anyaegbuna, a Community Leader, is a distinguished son of Umuife Family Kindred (Umunna) in Uruaneke Village Umuoji where he holds the Nzeani Traditional Chieftaincy title, Ezennia Nwanonukpo. He is also Ichie Nwanonukpo II after his father (The Nwanonukpo of Umuoji) , a first class traditional title holder and an Ichie of Cabinet Rank in his native homeland Umuoji, where he also served as the President-General, Umuoji Improvement Union Nigeria (Worldwide) , forty years after his father (Chief J.B.C Anyaegbuna) and 90 years after his grandfather (Chief Leopold Okoji Anyaegbuna) who incidentally was the pioneer President General of the Town Union in 1926. It was during his tenure (2015-2019) as President General of Umuoji that the World Bank embarked on Erosion control in the Community following the highly patriotic and selfless efforts of Adadioranma Mrs. Eucharia Osakwe ACA who left no stones unturned to ensure a successful outing.
VOA as he is popularly known by his peers and admirers is also an author and a poet dating back from his childhood. He has four published works of literature; a love/romantic novel UNREQUITED LOVE published by Author House UK 2009 and is available on Amazon.
