It's been months since I've tried to forget you
forget what we shared; forget that I cared
But the past 20 years seem recurrent~my thoughts I can't undo
I remember as if it were yesterday the first day that we met:
...
I heard the right words:
I'm sorry...
I have strong feelings for you...
I don't want our relationship to end...
...
I walked alone through the paths one night
When a hurtful thought came into sight
An un-kept promise I had made to the Lord
Now raced through my mind and left me insecure
...
I remember a time when everything was simple-one could call a 'spade' a spade
but, somewhere down the line, we have changed-not necessarily for the good, but a change nevertheless...
We have become politically correct, but our youth have lost respect
We trust God when terrorism strikes, but prayer in school isn't liked
...
KNOWING you is a pleasure
for your traits are beyond measure
EXUBERANT, free-spirited, Saved & loving
It's the thought of you that keeps me going
