When the sunsets
The ground metamorphies to show demons
The darkness housing claws and teeth
Only broken by hopeful streetlights
...
This soul of mine has been broken
Broken by demons disguised as angels
You can still see the scars they caused
This soul of mine has climbed mountains
...
The lines hold back grey matter bars of hate
Paragraphs are the chains that hold them back
Vowel and consonants
Create a multitude of traps

If I can have a superpower
I will have super strength
Why, because
Body moves forwards

(Disclaimer: contains the theme of suicide, if you are going through this, please seek professional help. Services from the UK will be noted at the bottom of this poem)
The first time you think of suicide
You may have a smile on your face, but inside you will be crying out
...
I hate you sometimes
I hate how you always search for love, but always in the places, it does not exist
Just to paper mache your face to the world
So that the world sees you are searching for love, yet you do not feel it
...
I walk through your neuron pathways
Skipping past myelin sheath rocks
And looking at grey matter trees
They were once so green

It is said
The world does not a cruel world understand black pain
Broken bones concealed, with hand-carved smiles
Cuts covered constantly continuing
...
It is said
The bigger the hair the closer to heaven you are
The longer the hair
The closer to your roots

Am not patriotic enough
Are my scars not deep enough
Are my calluses not hard enough
Are my nightmares of guns and bloodshed

My Malcolm says
I will fight
I will fight when you treat my skin like a garden to practice your racism
I will fight your racism with my black beauty

On this day
Derek Chauvin got found guilty of, the murder of
George Floyd. Today another day the world sees black pain
This time we are not ignoring it
...
Say their name as if it is hot coal in your mouth
Let their name burn your tongue and throat
Causing words that will flow like lava out of your mouth
maybe that why its called burning rage

Let me reveal a secret.
Black people are experts at voice control.
We can suppress our voice in a whisper.
Knowing when we shout we can change the world.

I die
I die
I died when my body became a mortar round
Exploding into fragments of my

I saw a black girl cry
because she learned her skin
Is sign saying
'shot me'

The first day of Derek Chauvin trial started
The man who killed George Floyd

When The Sunset Comes
When the sunsets
The ground metamorphies to show demons
The darkness housing claws and teeth
Only broken by hopeful streetlights
When the mindsets
Neurons metamorphies
Revealing all the demons depression held back
Only broken by the love of family and friends
I do not like sunsets
I know they are inevitable
So i have learned to cherish all the sunlight
Because i do not know when the darkness will return
Still i will smile A life filled with love and laughter Will be worth a wrinked body
