Ryano is an Irish poet, currently based in Galway City.
His work is painted in his own signature logo, personalised to include three key elements to his work:
- Liberal arts (piano)
- Freedom of speech (quotation marks)
- Mental health (semi-colon)
Ryano attempts to depict thoughts & feelings in modern society using self-awareness, empathy & attention to detail. Dissected, his poetry can contain multiple meanings, requiring the reader to tap into deep thoughts & different perspectives.
Promoting his work anonymously, poetry is his escape & comfortable space to be vulnerable, share personal challenges & relatable obstacles from a complex & individual pathway.
Withholding an identity places a greater emphasis on the words expressed than the person sharing them. Egos & reputations aside, one can ironically be their true self like no-one is watching.
Long-term, Ryano wants to continue to follow his passion for writing poetry & have his work on public display - online, in books, on paintings, walls, murals, anywhere & everywhere.
More of Ryano's work can be found on his social media page (Instagram: @__ryano_)
Show me who you are
Away from the daily monitor
Away with flashing cameras
Turn off the teleprompter
...
I've devoured my emotions
Instead of swallowing my pride
I've fed on the weak ones
& crawled in carcasses to hide
...
The last veined leaf of faith
Clings on branch end
Not thinking of the winter day
He falls away & dies
...
Behind my eyes & fine veneer
Life's inches add up
Screaming loud & clear
Like microphone feedback through my ears
...
