Bri's 'Showcase-Intro(duction) ' poem:
...
Readers,
Due to my frustration with the process I use (trying to) put together this showcase, combined with my time limitations, computer incompetence (mine) , and general ineptitude (mine) , this 2nd Nov.2021 showcase is SHORT. Ha! ! bri ;)
...
My 'Showcase' Task & My Requests To Readers
It's not as easy to assemble poems (I like) each month to share with YOU.
I mean it's not as easy as it USED TO BE for me, but I do find a FEW.
...
I plan to start a 'showcase' on my PoemHunter site,
which will NOT be a contest; no need for a fight,
but instead a place where once a month I shall post..
a poem of your choosing, which you would like read most.
...
Now that I've typed 2019, I'll concentrate,
to, this New Year's showcase, consecrate …
to the "divine purpose" of entertaining you,
with dozens of poems, or ….at least a few,
...
Last month's showcase, for me, has come and gone, ignored by many.
But, hey, that's one good thing on PH; you may read all OR not any!
I prefer to use poems not too long, so some I'll edit. Don't you fret.
Each poet may have one poem each month here. Will I get ………..
...
My PH friends and other members:
Unfortunately PH 'chooses' to SOMETIMES make it impossible [FOR ME AT LEAST] to submit a poem comment to show up on a poem's page. BUT Bri has some tricks up his (my)sleeve to pass along to you all:
...
Yes, I was shocked to find my name missing. So I've now, BOTH of my wrists, SLIT.
It's not every day a person, usually so mild and peaceful, can feel JUST LIKE SHIT.
NO, it's TOO LATE, PoemHunter, to add my name, because...I'd feel just the same.
...
A -BRI'S INTRODUCTORY POEM:
It's mid-September and the pressure is mounting,
‘cause I KNOW, on me, Bri, you ALL are still counting to place joy, nay, rapture amidst your dull drudgery,
...
Introductory Poem:
'Time moves on' some SAY, and I too shall move on some DAY! Don't cry, not yet,
because no 'moving day' is yet set. I've had a good life and now feel not much regret.
...
I’ve started a 'showcase' on my PoemHunter site,
which is NOT a contest; it’s no arena for a fight,
but instead a place where once a month I shall post..
a poem from you, a PH member, which you’d like read most.
...
Are the poems included here the 'Very Best'?
I know of no way, such a theory, ever to test.
Some ‘works' you may like, some you may …..NOT.
Some I may enjoy immensely [they really 'hit the spot'].
...
Bri's quest to be a poet-different on P H does survive.
NOW, a fine new idea, for showcases, does, to me, arrive.
In the new month of JUNE I'll display only female works,
and hope, to me, it brings MANY attractive P H Perks.
...
July's showcase is done. It's finished, but not ‘forgot'.
Many of you generously filled at least …one poem slot,
and some filled two, the limit I've put in place for now.
It's nearly August, so ……into August let's now plow.
...
"What A Nice Life I Have" was, with Jez Brul, a 'hit'.
Now she wants a sequel. So today I'll write a BIT....
.....MORE.
Perhaps two** years of marriage has passed since what first....
...
I go from a mixed bag of Halloween candy,
to a "mixed bag" of poems, dandy.
Soon I move East for six months at least,
to give N. Carolina a taste of this poetic beast.
...
Introductory Poem:
Poems From PH Poets Of The Indian Subcontinent
...
Now it's April 30 and I'm back from my extended 'fun' trip overseas.
On the ferry boat from Holland to U.K. we encountered quite a breeze.
But I managed to keep what little I ate tucked away in my big tummy,
and managed to sleep, lulled by the waves as I used to be lulled by my mummy.
...
So, now for some information about my first SHOWCASE for PH poets:
Sorry, I've altered some things already, like the title of my lead-in poem, above. In anticipation of a great response [I sent notices to about 50 members so far from my inbox], I have added to my lead-in poem's title 'February,2015: section 'A' '.
...
"Happy New Year! " to those of you who celebrate such pagan rituals.
I'll celebrate them WITH you, but only if they include yummy victuals**.
Santa Claus brought me a new set of Typing Fingers; do you believe THAT?
If you do, you may also believe that under Santa's coat is muscle, NO fat!
...
As ghosts and ghouls descend on the U.S.,
I offer a November Showcase, nothing less.
[I was referring to our Halloween festivities,
which (witch?) are not among ALL Americans'..............proclivities.]
...
I have been spending time in PH's ' Members' area, sampling...........the poets there.
And I've found a surprisingly-large number of fine poems, though SOME are....just "fair".
Since February's ‘short' and time on my mate's computer is truly, .... unfortunately, FINITE,
I'll start today to put this ‘show' together.I hope you'll find some....poems are ‘dynamite'!
...
[ my introductory poem ]:
Not long ago I submitted an Aug.-Sept. "Showcase List".
...
When I finally hit 'submit'...or is it 'publish', P-H sent me this note, under a large RED Dot (with a WHITE 'x' inside the dot) :
'Please enter at up 150 characters in the 'Title' field.'
...
Poems MUST be subtle!
Else them I’LL SCUTTLE! !
NEVER make the meaning clear!
From clear meaning YOU MUST ALWAYS STEER! !
...
This month [June, that is] I begin my 71st year of aggravating...
....whomever I "rub the wrong way".This, for me, is stimulating!
[My age shall be "70", and, since in this part of the world babies …
... don't ‘turn one year(s) old' till they've breathed air for a year**,
...
Loke Kok yee, how art thee? ?
I guess,2 U, it's so plain to see..
that I have paid little heed to you,
of late, and vice versa is in fact true,

[[ Showcase's Introductory poem, by Bri]]:
**British Isles:
...
Valsa George:
As Valsa George regally passes, I will stand.
And, if she stops near me, I'll extend my hand ….
...
Vaibhav left a comment in which he used the "oppugnant" word.
Mama commented on that comment, saying he had never heard
…..of such a word, though he'd found one that might be related.
V. retorted to M. that Google dictionary had it; that, he so related.
...
Introductory Poem:
In My Housemate's Absence
...
A dreary day meets my eyes out nearby windows, amongst South Carolina hills.
Perhaps these poems I've gathered from this site will help to ease some little ills.
I don't do much each day except read books and take care of eight red chickens,
so putting together this offering helps me, before my 'almost-depression' thickens.
...
A -BRI'S INTRODUCTORY POEM:
It's mid-September and the pressure is mounting,
...
September 2016 soon will be at its glorious end,
so HURRY if, for Sept., a poem you plan to send …
or it may end up in this October 'A'Section.
[Proofread each poem; I don't expect perfection! ]
...
The playful wind; Life struggles; Marital discord; Loss of youth;
Fighting cancer; Halloween horrors; Newborn's thoughts; Poesy;
Outward appearances; Religion; Prairie solitude; Rainy day observations;
A silly story; A pause to refresh, AND to enjoy Nature! ! ALL THIS IS FREE …
...
Come one, come all. Well, not quite;
only those who have the poem 'bite';
that is, those who like poetry to write,
or at least to read it when it's …..in sight.
...
I’ve started a 'showcase' on my PoemHunter site,
which is NOT a contest; it’s no arena for a fight,
but instead a place where once a month I shall post..
a poem* from you, a PH member, which you’d like read most.

***Important information, ADDED August 7th 2017:
Readers of showcases, this August's showcase has been somewhat of a bother to me, for various reasons. I've had 'technical problems' maneuvering through the process of putting it together. Much of the trouble has to do with its length and my attempts to make it more user-friendly. PoemHunter does not always cooperate either. Now I am in the process of breaking the LONG showcase (over 40 poems, by over 40 poets) into FOUR PARTS: A, B, C, and D.
...
[Maya RIP - Maya Angelou (April 11,1928-May 28,2014) ]
PH paid tribute recently to a famed poet, Maya Angelou, on her death.
I WON'T suggest they do likewise, after I take....'my last breath',

Come one, come all, step right on up.
Read with canned beer or tea in cup.
You're ALL invited, but not coerced.
You can judge what's best and worst.
...
I'm typing on a 'tablet', so Bri may soon be shouting.
If 'it' acts as it does at times, I also may be pouting!
April's showcase I hope.....found one or two new friends.
My goal: 'To allow you access, with few twists and bends'.
...
In this SECTION “B “of November 2015 showcase, the poems will be (generally) of the following length: MORE THAN 12 LINES AND LESS THAN 51 LINES. Each poet may have one poem in this section; second poems (OR late 1st poems) of similar length shall be in SECTION “C”.
...
‘Dear' poets, Male and Female and ‘In-Between',
The monitor-of-PC (by me) is still quite clearly seen,
But, alas, my mate sees fit to keep me from it ….a lot,
Because my eye(s) bother(s) me & there're just 2 I've got!
...
Time weighs heavily on Bri's shoulders, preparing this display.
I think while I'm ‘breakin' my back', all my ‘Friends' are at play.
But I don't REALLY blame them.I'd rather be off playing too,
…..instead of preparing this showcase for you, You, and YOU! !
...
June's 'All-Female Showcase' is done; it's even had some readers!
Now my ‘job' begins: to find ‘Poems-as-Good by Males'. No cheaters.. …….are allowed!
As best as Bri can tell, the 'females' are females and 'males' are all males.
But, online, who can tell for sure? Relying on PH names OR ‘pics' sometimes fails,

**British Isles:
England, Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, Scotland, Wales,
&‘smaller islands', from which all distant travel ….once was by sails.
They are all part of Europe, though many of you may not, it, know.

PoemHunter [STILL FREE] has problems for sure,
for which, right now, there may be no cure, OR
at least no "cure" I see coming at all soon,
so let's all meet tonight at The Poemhunter Saloon.

After weeks of failure, 'Search Anything' finally works.
Some MIGHT think some who changed P-H were 'jerks'.
True, I've compared P-H's 'new look' to a bowel movement,
