With an eye to the road
And ears attentive
We patiently waited
For approaching bus or lorry
To herald the return of brothers and sisters
Uncles and aunties
With twentieth to twenty forth
Been peak days of reunion
From cities far and wide
And mostly Lagos
Relatives throng home
To celebrate a season of love
With dearly beloveds.
