17. Sacred Dust
"When I heard this story extraordinary
I wanted to meet the great Brahmana
And smear my body worthless
With the sacred dust of his feet,
"O' Great Yudhishthira,
Half my body turned gold
On just rolling in the dust.
I came here for the other half.
"But, nothing happened
This is why your sacrifice
Is nowhere near theirs, "
The mongoose stopped.
Everyone in the Court of
The Great Yudhishthira,
The Emperor of Bharatavarsha
Lowered his head in shame.
The mongoose said again,
"O' Emperor Yudhishthira, do you think
The animal sacrifice you've done
Would please Lord Dharmadeva? "
Before Yudhishthira could answer
The mongoose had disappeared.
