07. Arjuna Sets Out

Before Arjuna set out on the tour,
They analysed their relationship
With other countries, for whoever
Oppose their authority may fight him.

To quell dissent and spread peace
A hand of friendship be extended
To all, even the heirs of those
Who fought them in the War and were killed.

The best thing to do, suggested Krishna,
Was to send a formal invitation to all the kings
immediately and whole-heartedly
To participate in the Ashwamedham.

But, it was decided that Arjuna shall be
Accompanied by a large army,
Fully equipped and sufficient
In strength. Just in case!

On a most auspicious day
As decided by the rishis and
Acharyas, Arjuna set out
To tour the world, with the ashwa.
