I love this story. And i was happy to read it as a poem penned by you, Unni. Bhagavan Krishna knew the intention of Dhritarashtra when he embraced Bhima. That's why he pushed aside Bhima and placed a iron statue instead, which he crushed into thousand pieces.

In spite of the fearsome war and loss of almost everyone near and dear, Dhritarashtra’s attachment to worldly emotions had not subsided. Only Bhagawan Krishna could understand this. Maybe, he does not blame the King. But he needs to be corrected. Krishna had tried to reason with the King on many previous occasions. But the King refused to see reasons, blinded by his unqualified love for his so. Who is not! Krishna now uses the occasion to make the King understand himself.
