YOUTH POWER TO.RUN THIS COUNTRY

lovely morning scene
as youngsters.go out to.work
on nation's engines

on roads - buzz past us
on.cycles, fancy bikes and scooters
many.on.buses

economy rests
lightly on their broad.shoulders
all due to their zest

fields and factories
soldiers, policemen, sailors
trains, planes, buses, metros

schools and colleges
banks, clinics, post offices
dams, canals, bridges

malls, road-side ventures
hotels, eateries, tea shops
bakers and butchers

variety is wide
huge manpower in action
a crime to deride

we seniors wonder
nothing works without the youth
sometimes we shudder
