Your Weight Poem by Suzanne Hayasaki

Your Weight

Make me feel safe.
Ground me with your weight.
Let your gravity anchor me,
Freeing me to seek myself.

Establish perimeters.
Guard it with your awareness.
Be my outside eyes
So that mine can see within.

Block all signals.
Shut out all noise.
Leave me nothing but your presence
So that I can focus my senses.

Be my outpost.
Be my fort.
Be my sentry.
By my spy.

And I will try to be
Your beauty
Your weakness
You wisdom
Your fatal flaw.

I will lean on you
If you will come to me
For love.
