OH, this is so beautifully expressed, Anne. Your words enchanted me with the first stanza and that feeling was amplified by the succeeding ones. There is a tenderness in this poem which I find utterly sincere. The speaker is clearly a person who knows words, treasures them, uses them to close the gap between herself and the other person. You cited John Keats, and I can see his fine, formal, heartfelt language in your poem but this poem is also rooted deeply in the heritage of your Chinese poetry. In that way your poem is an ambassador of good will uniting two worlds. The emotions you release in these words are the ones that affirm peace, love, fulfillmemt.

I remember i was reading Pablo Neruda, Twenty Love Poems and A Song of Despair, his words brought me to a beautiful scene of the night before - watching the movie Bright Star with a true beauty in my life, the intelligence and tenderness in her eyes really touched me, I knew she was the one i can share Keats with, even though she merely said a word, the feeling of being understood held so much warmth! When the warmth came into words, it beacme my voice, your voice, her voice, Keats' voice, Neruda's voice...
