Despite it's brevity this poem suggests many things. First, your willingness to join the silence and fall silent after the third line. And this means you must suppress desires. Desires are usually eager to be fulfilled, expressed, satisfied, but you have channeled yours to a FULL PAUSE. That's the second surprise: that the eagerness of desire is restrained. What comes through in this poem for me is the generosity of the speaker to stop speaking because the other person needs silence.
