Your Plate Poem by Dorsey Baker

Your Plate

You cannot adjust your fate
You've got to eat
What is out upon your plate
It might be
Something good
It might be
Something bad
Make you happy
Make you sad
Something you know
Very well
Or something
That you never had
You cannot adjust your fate
You've just got to
Eat what is
Put upon your plate
Something in the future
Something in the present
Something in the past
Change of weather is coming
It's coming fast
And you cannot adjust your fate
You've just got to
Eat what is out upon your plate
