Cowboy! ! ! Feel free to read my poetry over and over and over again! They thrive on attention, the egotistical little things! !

With friends like that, who needs enemies? I have read and commented on this before, but it is certainly worthy of being read again!

Soran, I wish I knew so much more about the different kinds of poetry, I envy those who can write a historical essay but make a poem of it! That is the cool thing about writing- -the variety of good expression.

It can be humorous or serious, playful or sober-sided, beautiful and smooth, or ugly and rough. Sometimes they rhyme, sometimes not, sometimes they metaphor, sometimes not.

Poetry is a literary genre that is not limited to definitions because it is the speech of the soul, so sometimes the poets themselves does not know the secret of poetry and where it comes, so what about someone who does not write poetry, but we all, with all our variations, feel the effect of poetry on ourselves and taste it. Well done Susan for explaining important aspects of poetry types 10 ++

poetry has many ways to delve into the myriad emotions of the heart, to explore the layers of spirituality of the soul, and to entertain the contrary thoughts of the mind.

Ace! ! ! ! That is one of the best poetic comments I have ever received! ! ! It is a poem in its own right- and it speaks for the heart and soul of many a poet. " These words are my paints to describe both my feelings and the world around me." - -beautiful words! ! ! Thank you for such an inspiring comment.

The nature of poetry is vaster then any ocean. Even the successful poet rarely makes monetary gain. And most true poets are looking for a way to express themselves. A way to escape the world as it is. A way voice anger in a productive way. A way to achieve inner peace and happiness. The friend who judges me for it is no friend of mine. These words are my paints to describe both my feelings and the world around me. Thanks for such inspiring poem.

Part One, Khairul. Oh, clever idea! I have written my replies as comments but was aware that wasn't probably very helpful since how would my poem's commentator know I had replied? ? ? I will try to remember to add my reply to a comment on one of their poems! Great idea and thank you for sharing.

Part 2- -Khairul- I would be delighted to read your poem on this subject! ! ! I am so pleased to hear the comments of many poets on this site who do not condone brutal comments. How discouraging it must be to offer up your young poems and read belittling remarks instead of encouragement and helpful comments such as what lines were powerful or so smoothly melting into the next or the benefit of an interesting title, etc

Part 3. Khairul, yes, it was a genuine question. This young poet was so polite in return that I was amazed especially since she said " my friend" . That might have been sarcastic but the tome of her response hitherto didn't give rise to that conclusion. I was hoping the young poet had friends who really were friends and was not so accustomed to abuse that she accepted it as her deserved treatment

Hi Mj! ! ! ! I fear I lost sight of your comment, but I at last have seen it and aim to redeem myself! ! There are some people who float around covered up by an alias that they hide behind as they stomp an new writers' feelings.. There are ways to make a helpful comment but I guess these people are not at all interested in helping others. Susan

Thank you Susan, for your nice comment on my poem-'Just A Teardrop', the only one of my poems that had earned the honor of being chosen as the 'Member Poem of the Day'. I am thanking you here, because presumably, you won't get a notification of my reply there, because of the non functional reply box system.

The question at the end is genuine. A poem is not a commercial commodity but an intellectual asset whose currency is known and available to the natural poets only, not the 'assumed' ones. Loved some comments and your replies thereto.

Soran- -Some people just aren't friend material and some people get behind anonymity and are brutal to young writers. These are people I call trolls- -they try to look better by making others look worse. I totally believe that everyone would benefit their lives by writing poetry or short stories or a novel or a journal. Writing is good for the soul!
