There is no good in holding or speaking something which will destroy oneself and create an inner rot of once soul, as you say the claws of revenge will devour us if we speak ill. Phenomenal poem, succinctly poised, should be read by many people as a reminder of being mindful of their words, including myself.

Intelligent contemplation about the destructive nature in which words can be used. Words are like weapons they can leave a nasty mark not just on the person spoken too but the person who speaks them. Your words are as wise as when Buddha said " anger is like drinking a poison and expecting the other person to die" . Your thoughts have equal wisdom.

Bitterness is self destructive! Kindness and love are self nourishing! So let us wash our soul clean with the purifying waters of repentance and forgiveness, instead of surrendering ourselves to the claws of revenge. A great thought well enumerated in beautiful verse!

Constant bitterness can actually have negative effects on our physical health. However, people who have had a traumatic experience, such as being physically or emotionally abused by someone close to them. These wounds can leave them with lasting feelings of anger and bitterness, even vengeance.

Truth. To get rid of that soul-destroying bitterness and its attendant desire for revenge we need to practice forgiveness and practice and practice it some more! ! ! Wise poem! 10++++

I shall put away my bitter words, not wishing to provoke beasts nor birds which may descend upon me with talons or claws to punish my wickedness, or....just because I appear so weak, so meek, an easy mark, like a scurrying mouse or soaring lark. bri :)
