Younger Years Poem by Phil Soar

Younger Years

Rating: 5.0

I love the innocence of youth
Of infancy and all it means
And as I watch my ageing frame
I wish that I was there again

Playground kisses, chasing one another
Friends almost as close as a dear brother
Classroom notes passed underneath the desk
Love letters to the girl I liked the best

When looking back on many lunchtime breaks
Skipping from the classroom out to play
I know it shaped my life and my mistakes
But still I long to be there once again

Sweet memories of childhood accompany us all the while and we do get joy and refreshed by them. Striving to revisit childhood is invariably a natural tendency of human. Nice poem. Reminded my own childhood. Thanks for sharing. Ten points.
