This is a beautiful poem that gracefully articulates the dilemma faced by many 'couples' who try to accommodate conflicting demands. Your use of the buzzing of the flourescent lights to begin and end this poem works effectively and your compassionate, but understated delivery makes the situation even more poignant. Excellent work, Mary. love, Allie xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

This is an amazing write, Mary....tells the plight of the middle-class romantic dyad....sometimes you have to just revert back to 'common folk' - and remind yourself that family does come first.
