Hi Mary This is a tender poem. It should give its recipient much joy, but it gave me an appreciation of those people I am closest to - my twin sister, my great-nephew Finn and great-niece Kina, my best friend Paul - I actually saw their faces one after another as I read your poem. Isn't that the magic of poetry? It's so personal, but for each of us it's a unique experience of the personal. I read a poem you wrote to someone you care about, and it makes me think of those I care about. That's the alchemy of poetry.
