You Made Me Live Again Poem by Ging Taping

You Made Me Live Again

Rating: 5.0

I am in the middle of nowhere,
So dark I can't see anything, 'am I dreaming? '
I pinch my cheek, flick my eye. 'ooouch it hurts! '
Where am I? ..sigh...can't find the answer..
I slowly walk I raise my arms.
Hoping my elbows may touch something..
Step yes.... step not..it seems blindfolded,
Like in the game
Hide and seek that's what they called..
I walk to the left....walk to the right..
Hoping that over there I could see the light.

Ouch!
Impulsive hand covered to protect her mistress.
But it's too late my head has been bumped
Now I find the answer, I am here inside a deep hole..
why? so many questions I want to ask..
But now I need to focus, need to get out of here fast...
I begin climbing 'till I reach the plain land..
I look up high, the moon slightly hidin', stars twinkling in the sky.
I look around fireflies in the mids...
I wonder where they from, where they lead...
Crickets whispering their music in the calm night
Far a distance I saw a shimmering light
But fog goes down almost a vivid white..

Out from the blue haze,
I continue walking,
Starting to feel nervous,
I now reach the shimmering light I saw from afar..
To my surprise it is indeed a beautiful paradise..
Streams, valleys and hills surrounded by flowers..
And on the mountain waterfalls babbled gently to the river...
Puzzled and amazed
People stay together and live in peace not war..
No one notice me......

I say 'Hi! Hello! '
But they ignore me..
All of them are wearing white long gowns,
Talking and laughing like clowns...
Who are they? I'm trying to look for a familiar face,
But I can't find one, I tried my best...
So I must continue with my journey now I'd better go...
I can't measure how far I traveled
I've crossed the hanging bridge,
Passed the rocky road..passed the jungle
I am tired, hungry and thirsty,
If this is the end of my chapter then it will be forever sealed.

'Ging.., ging! ', someone is calling
She tap my shoulder and gently shakes me
Groggy....My eyes rolled trying to figure out
A lady in green standing in front of me.
She smile at me
'How do you feel now? ' She ask
'Where am I? '
'You are here inside the recovery room
'You have been transferred from the operating room
your operation was successful..
Congratulations'....

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Had MVP (Mitral Valve Prolapsed) since i was kid.
Started from mild stage. When i was 38 years old it goes up to moderate at 39 it goes up to severe stage.Had open heart surgery last March 25,2011, replaced my heart valve to a titanium valve.

Mitral valve prolapse (aka primary form of myxomatous degeneration of the mitral valve aka floppy mitral valve syndrome) is a valvular heart disease aka systolic click murmur syndrome aka billowing mitral leaflet syndrome, characterized by the displacement of an abnormally thickened mitral valve leaflet into the left atrium during systole.[1] There are various types of MVP, broadly classified as classic and nonclassic. In its nonclassic form, MVP carries a low risk of complications and often can be kept minimal by dietary attention. In severe cases of classic MVP, complications include mitral regurgitation, infective endocarditis, congestive heart failure, and, in rare circumstances, cardiac arrest, usually resulting in sudden death.

Mitral valve replacement is a cardiac surgical procedure in which a patient's diseased mitral valve is replaced by either a mechanical or bioprosthetic valve. Mitral valve replacement is performed when the valve becomes too tight (mitral valve stenosis) for blood to flow into the left ventricle, or too loose (mitral valve regurgitation) in which case blood can leak back into the left atrium and thereby back into the lung.[1][2] Mitral valve disease can occur from infection, calcification, [3][4] inherited collagen disease, or other causes.[5] Since a mitral valve replacement is an open heart surgical procedure, it requires placing the patient on cardiopulmonary bypass.[1]

I've luckily never had a surgery or been under anesthetic, but this gives an interesting and detailed account of the experience. What a beautiful dream you were having until you were woken up. Thanks for the poem Ging, very much enjoyed. And keep yourself healthy
