You Love Me Anyway Poem by Felix Otiende

You Love Me Anyway

Rating: 3.0

You Love Me Anyway

This is not a myth tale,
Fate and destiny to tell,
An orphan I grew,
With God and spirit support,

What's love?
I never knew love until you gave me it,
You were used to my one outfit,
And odd jobs that paid less than a dollar,

Even when temptation of life knocked,
You stood firm on my path,
Not to let me fall,
Your mum rejected me for the rich man,

Do you remember?
How I was mocked by your mates,
Still you came and kissed me,
Covered my shame,

It's true a home is made of love and trust,
You have built this one my love,
Am a husband and a father,
I will always praise your beauty.
