You Left Poem by Unknown Rosa

You Left

You were there
When we strove together
But then you left
But then you left

You weren't there when I left the world behind
Claiming what was mine
Changing my own mind
That what was gone would never
Ever
Return.

The light in the dark,
The flame in the ice
The heart in my cold, empty world
Was you

You were my star in the darkness
My seed in the barren land
My hill in its mountainous glory
My treasure when it all began
But then you left
Me
Again

And I knew that time
Was not
On our side

And I knew that we
Were not meant
To be

And I knew that you
Were not here
To stay.
