You have no business kissing me anymore.
Like spent fuel, your embers
Don't ignite me anymore.
It is as though the moon has replaced the sun.
And its refracted light has turned to hailstone and snow,
Snow without any sentimentality, mind you.
Once, I thought you were my universe.
That the world revolved around you.
Now I see you as a controlling spider
Intent on slowly devouring me, inside out.
My heart is drained to the core.
And all I can say in my defence
You have no business kissing me anymore.
Yet, darling, tonight I see a full moon. A snow blizzard
And I don't know what is in store.
So I close my eyes and learn to lie to my broken heart
And dream these kisses aren't even from you.
And you haven't sent all your fuel.
And you ignite me all the time.
