Even in despair, there is hope and this hope sustains life! I sense a kind of longing in your poem! Memories of togetherness arouse deep sense of nostalgia! Great write!

(CONT.) C - And I think your pattern of capitalization is inconsistent with the rules of prose, AND with the ‘usual pattern’ in poetry. It is not the easiest ‘read’ for me, but I like it. To MyPoemList. Bri (:

Thank you so much, Bri. You are right on about prose. Not too sure about the poetry, though. There have been many innovations.

(CONT.) B – perhaps a couple [[no gender indicated for either]] on the cusp of separation? the one offers possessions (even a hose; NOT ‘the house’!) , with hopes of keeping the relationship going. I suggest a comment after the first “hands”. ;) (CONT.)

A - i see i've commented already. BUT HERE IS MORE: prowess: skill or expertise in a particular activity or field. synonyms: skill, expertise, mastery, etc 2- bravery in battle. synonyms: courage, bravery, gallantry, hmm? looking up prowess does not help me! i thought 'YOU' were sitting, hands clasped; now i think s/he was. perhaps she 'gasped' as an expression of grief or exasperation or indecision? ? ? In your hands bleeds hope and crouches underneath the memories of togetherness that dispel insecurities, prowess- that make me infirm.......touching expression on lost love. A beautiful poem shared from the heart amazingly.10

The third stanza appears to be the sudden reaction or aftershock of the announcement in the first two stanzas. Perhaps the outcome will be just as unexpected. Hopefully there is room for discussion and some compromise.

Simone...perfect, yes! You got it...I was trying to convey that last moment that exists at the crossroads between total frustration....and possible, eventual reconciliation.

the love lost which renders all else as worthless as ash, the time to put truth value true worth on the table, sadly is often too late or not realized until too late, beautiful lines Mark

Thanks, Terry. And what you say does prove that there are times when 'better late than never' makes no or little sense.

Just as long as my fate, a rose In your hands bleeds hope- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - This is what writers dream of writing- lines so pure they pierce through our jaded souls and make us remember the pain we have all suffered at one time or another the pain that both made us and unmade us who we are today. Excellence is your middle name! 10++++

Poignant. The last stanza condenses the passing moment. Beautifully written. that make me infirm. Sitting, back straight eyes closed legs crossed hands clasped you sang, a low voice. You gasped.
