Hmmmm...well...that sounds like a challenge...if ever I've heard one...so...put your money where your mouth is, and tell me more about yourself...because I'm betting, that I would like you! ! So there! ! I like your poem...please write more poems. Hugs, dee
I actually do know you because I have been there, felt that and done all those things you speak of in this poem. You are not alone in these feelings'Scarred Unknown'....I wish I knew you though so I could congratulate you on some pretty awesome poetry! As you grow up you will see that it is not that much different we all wear many masks...but no matter what here is what I know about you-U seem like a great person who deserves to be known and not so scarred that you have to hide who you are as a person...and a poet! I give you 10 stars easily on this piece. Thank you for sharing and please know you have greatness in you because you are the Child of a heavenly King. ((smile)) Take care of U, =Shelley=
You've so succinctly captured the feeling that so many of us have even into adulthood (whatever THAT means) , SU. A great sociologist whose name is Erving Goffman wrote several books about the 'public personas' we all have. We do a great deal of 'acting', so, how could anyone know us? I mean, really, really know us. It's important that we find people we feel 'safe' with and learn to trust our 'instincts' about who we will trust with our 'real' selves. It's true, we can't trust everyone. Continue processing your feelings through language. Read some contemporary poetry from your library, and practice, practice, practice. Make the dictionary your best friend. Thanks again, for sharing.
