People who are abused or unnecessarily blamed by others carry a deep hurt inside which slowly leads to self pity and self mortification which is absolutely tragic! To get out of it needs self effort and sometimes even expert guidance! When one is not at at fault, there is no need for a withdrawal....or sense of guilt or self reproach! As Geetha has put it, hold ones head high and face the world with confidence! Great write Lyn which will definitely soothe people in similar distress!

Beautiful poem Lyn. I agree with you, why to blame self for the mistakes never committed. Just by blaming self one is putting low. Why to walk with head down, walk with head half high. Thoughtful write. In fact a motivating poem for all of us, including me Lyn. There are times I blamed myself. I was forced by others to see myself in that way. In one sense I am too a victim, pained a lot from inside. Though I know I was never at fault. To be frank it took all charm of my life itself. Just alive, I feel many times. Thoughtful write, loved reading it. Thanks for sharing.

For anybody who has been mentally abused this superb write goes deep to dissolve the self blame game, I have experience of been bullied and I used to feel it must be my fault. I love this wise and uplifting write that gives the victims power to hold their heads up high!
