This nostalgic poem reminds me of my childhood; our old family home is now demolished. Like you, all I have now is precious memories.
Thank you, Michael. So often our feelings/thoughts are in freeze-frame mode, but Time marches on, relentlessly. I hope that you still have photos of your old family home. I do, of mine.

you can't go back into the past, for all of that is gone, but happy thoughts and memories will forever linger on.
Sometimes we become wistful and nostalgic for the old memories, until something new and happy comes along to replace the old. We need to keep creating new happy memories, continually. Thank you, Louis, for commenting.
