I love this brilliant poem. It is like a dance quiz. Leg and ankle are a must for dance - to stamp, twist and turn. Arms and wrist are a must too, to hold the 'Mudras! Sans the hands and legs - one can dance in mind! :) Lovely MJ - 10+++
You have hit my Achilles heel, must be in the genes and will need a few generations to clear. Ho! Ho! Ho! Thanks Mj, some embarrassing memories came back.
Thanks, Loke. That is really funny. And yes, .there are days I can't even think the word 'dance' without embarrassing memories being dredged up..
A beautiful humorous poem painted with high imagination. Thanks for sharing.
M.J., couldn't resist looking this one up. Used to be scared to death with dancing. Before I knew it, I was twisting the night away. And almost twisted my ankle. Started doing the Limbo Rock. Almost broke my broken back. Just turned 65. Couldn't remember the last time that I had danced the night away. Thanks for the wonderful memories!
Richard, thanks so much for this great comment. I am so glad this poem brought back some memories. I can only say that, at best, I may have some memories of trying to dance! Thanks again.

one of the great poetic pleasures in life is dedicating a poem to an inspiring poet

Thanks so much, Terry. Yes, I can hear the music. But the result isn't pretty. There's something about dancing and writing. After reading your comment, I realized just how much of a connection they really have.
Yes! I made it through! ! ! I found a poem of yours on a list of today's poems, I clicked on it and - -YEA! ! ! - -I was allowed to see it and read it and comment on it.... then I pressed my luck, I clicked on the POEMS category on the header and it actually landed me on the page listing all your poems and I clicked on this title and... I got through... PH can't keep me from reading poems! Now... your poem here makes me giggle because I can't dance either since I am plumb tuckered out from the search to find a way to read your poems. I'm sorry you went to all the effort to break your limbs to avoid dancing but I will ask you again someday because, as you can clearly see, I am the persevering type! ! ! Mike, you made me smile!
Hi Susan, So good to see that you made it through! Just awesome. And your comment really made my day. Yes, I have at one time or another managed to break or fracture the limbs I mention. The ankle just over a year ago. But I don't think, to be totally honest, that has anything to do with my total lack of dancing ability. It's just a talent! Thanks again. And have been trying to get onto your page, but keep dropping off. And I shall keep trying.
Susan, Wow. where has the time gone? It was actually just over 2 years ago, December 2014, that I broke the ankle. This is 2017 already? ? In any case, that really couldn't and didn't make my dancing talent any worse.
Even when one is incapacitated with a broken leg or arm, one can still dance and the invitation to do a waltz is always welcome than being brushed aside......! Attitude is more important! Love your positive attitude!
Absolutely, Valsa. I think I actually was abetter dancer when down. Thanks so much for reading.
