You Can Drive Poem by Jeri Martindale

You Can Drive

Time to take a drive tonight, to fly! I feel the wind in my face and all I can see are your beautiful blue eyes staring at me!

Capture me, I will let you put me in a cage forever, as long as you continue to take my breath away just by touching my face.

So this is what it feels like to be completely content with all of myself, with you. I do not want to escape from your grasp! Wrap your chains around me, I am YOURS!

Escape, I have always felt the need to purposely get lost, to lose a part of myself. Oh how long its been since I stepped into the tranquil waters to rise out a new, allowing the other part of my soul to take control.

She is the one who captured you, ya know? Remember her? She reached out and touched your cheek. Eyes sparkling, alive.
We were SO ALIVE! ! Laying in each others arms, our naked bodies intwined.

Now I wrap my arms around you and hold you tight, I want you to feel as you can't breathe when you are sitting next to me.
What do u seek from me? Would you like to escape, to become the other part of ourselves?

I know exactly where I am; I can't get lost when you drive. Do you want to get lost tonight? If you do, I don't mind.
Lean over here and let me kiss you, let us let fate drive tonight. I wouldn't mind being lost with you, we could stay lost forever!
