You Poem by Joe Fraccalvieri

You

Rating: 1.0

Not a thousand stars in the heavens
casting down their ageless light
can outshine the beauty within you
that you bring to my darkest night

Not the moon, not the sun, nor the planets...
neither meteors seen soaring above
can compare to that flight one would dare
that I share in the height of your love

Not the swiftness of raging rivers...
not oceans, nor torrents of rain
can soothe me as when you touch my skin
that washes away every pain

The sun, with its blinding power
with every hour... every burning ray
cannot warm my heart like your kisses...
you are the brightest part of my day

And when I haven't a place to find comfort
from the journeys and miles I would roam...
yours is the face that I look for--
like the perfect rhyme of a poem--
you are the one who I go to...
the one who whispers to my soul
'Welcome home'!
