You. Poem by David Wood

You.

Rating: 5.0

We found ourselves in a crowded place
Your radiant beauty
Shimmered in the glow of a soft evening.
All I can see is you.

You look at me from across the room
And my defences fall
I look back to see such sweet softness,
The tenderness of love.

A week ago we were just strangers
I glanced and was captured.
A constellation of stars are dimmed
By your very presence.

I'm captured in this timeless moment.
By those sweet pale blue eyes
I gaze, and in that flood of limpid blue
My spirit wanders free.
