You Poem by Shelvakumari Thachayil

You

I didn't know who or what you turned me for,
But you made it impossible to get through days
without you, It is the darkest deepest place
one can travel to alone.
Days of endless struggle
Trying to appear 'normal'
In some sort of way more hopeful
Sometimes even harder
Dealing with the hurt
I had you wrapped around me
I let you take control of my veins
You had me convinced that throughout my life
You were determined to stay
Before you know it
Everyone I loved seen
This side of me that was hurting
I did what you taught me to do
Now stands loneliness and despair.....
