the first time i read were where [instead of where were] i thought it was a typo. then i kept seeing it. and You was always in the pub, with was instead of were, caught my attention. did they/it catch anyone else's? is the writing intentional, British, or.............am i hallucinating! ? hee-hee. ;) i'm NOT assuming (as i and others sometimes do) that this poem is a true account of the author's experience. if it is, he has my condolences. Light Verse about a heavy subject! ! ! bri :) to MyPoemList........i think.
A poignant narrative about the growth of a young man told since his childhood. The sordid fact remains that his father preferred drinking more than anything else. Thanks for sharing. All the Best, Tom Allport.
