Self-awareness! ! ! ! ! Thanks for sharing this poem with us.
You have said it in the last stanza, what yoga is. Comprehensively the term includes eight-fold aspects, ashtaanga, if observed fully. The result, if so, would be much more than the sum total of the eight aspects, synergy will come into effect and the life would be holistic. The ultimate aim of yoga is kaivalyam, not even the siddhis that come with yoga.
The poem sets things about the idea and philosophy of Yoga in the right perspective and clears misconceptions in this regard, that too, in simple terms. Through Yoga, a man attains full control on his body and mind by being healthy and strong. From then on 'The ultimate goal of Yoga is to develop into a pure and powerful soul' and attain salvation. Thanks, Geeta ji, for this lovely poem on the occasion of World Yoga Day.
Another beautiful poem by Geeta. Yoga is such an integrating force and brings so many spiritual states through Namaste and Shavasana. Important poem that is a great theme. Well done by Dr. Radhakrishna!
Yoga is not only for the health of the body but it is also for the mental health. According to Patanjali's Yoga Sutras Yoga is a powerful technique to improve the mind. The ultimate goal of Yoga is to develop into a pure and powerful soul. You have so nicely and astutely delineated about Yoga in ths poem in occasion of International Yoga day. Thanks for sharing.10
