Yet Still Poem by Lodigiana Poetess

Yet Still

We wandered through the umbrous lanes,
my lonely thoughts and I,
and caught the breeze through leafless trees,
yet...still the world goes by.
All thoughts now silent in my head
I hear them gently try,
to clear the shadow over me
yet...still the world goes by.
You took my love, you held my heart
You never saw me cry,
these trinkets lost within your smile,
yet... still the world goes by
Awake from bitter dreams
to call a name no longer there.
My pride no longer lets me try
to show that I don't care.
The sunshine in my world is now eclipsed
by darkened sky,
I wait forlorn to see the dawn
Yet....still the world goes by
