Yesteryears Poem by Angel A. Lockwood

Yesteryears

I look forward to tomorrow
But Oh
How I miss yesteryear
Where I could run on the playground
Yet have no fear
While living for the weekend
Bringing it in with cheer
Resting on the sabbath
Worshipping the Creator
No one was killed
Just a brief reflection
Of the simple Goodness
Sheer protection
Perhaps taken for granted
That I would still love to feel
Lord I thank you
For today and tomorrow
But I really do
miss the Sweet Ole
yesteryears

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Society has somehow allow a dark cloud to evade our existence. A purity seems not to exist, only shadows of disappointments and gloom due to poor decisions that effect others sometimes in ways we never imagine.
