You either love him or hate him, depending on your snobbery intake. Drunken rubbish

I've enjoyed every one of Chas' poems that I've read.

This is a horrible poem! The devil created suicide, hatred, and the other things that would harm a human being spirtually and phsically not God! I know he's dead but how could he write such a horrible poem? Sheesh!

Sometimes a writer will write from a perspective contrary to their own to illustrate their own belief in an artful way. Poetry is seldom a declaration of ones actual belief or faith, but rather a more true expression of art, and frankly what will read well. While you are correct, the devil did invent suicide and every manor of sin, (with mans help of course) it was never Bukowski's responsibility or intent to be virtue's champion. He was a poet. And one of our best.
