Yellow Pepper Poem by Warri Stanley

Yellow Pepper

‘'Yellow Pepper‘'

At the hallmark of venus for adonis,
Where naked brains make the choice.
Choice for choice, man for man, they made.
Replace them that is all we want now.

Hmmm, every souls is walking unclad now,
in this happy land of uncertainties,
Our breeze is peppery, and water salty,
And the year ahead us is naked,
Like a new born baby whose days untold.

Since three years rocks grew everywhere,
Every sweet water has become onugbu,
And our wines are red like bloods,
Our own garri is as expensive as motor parts,

If we must sing songs of birds in the next years,
Then old POETMEN must not be chorus leaders,
Because our ears are tire, tired of same old lyrics,
Tired of all those songs composed by old POETMEN.

Many old POETMEN has delivered pepper into our eyes,
Where the eyes of every street is now dread red,
But painful how they easily forget their longtime suffering,
After reciting the poems of old POETMEN.

But if a man must man himself very well,
Why will a man take a coin and stillbirth hope?
Why will he eat a coin and lack it for four years?
Why will all promises becomes YELLOW PEPPER?
