I agree with Brian. This poem brings fresh the intense grief and anger of loss. Comparing human sobs to that of the Mynah bird is sheer poetic inspiration. This is a very evocative poem. Yes, it makes me sad, because from the reading, I'm imagining the speaker expressing grief over the untimely death of a special loved one, too young to be ripped from earth. The bird references, the kitties, the canines, the sounds, bring to mind inncocence and lack of rhyme or reason. Yes, this is well done. Thanks.

This poem made me sad. Your poem is written in a style every bit as sweet and innocent as the little baby bird of which you write. Red petals- -drops of blood- -brilliant! Your poem places us right there on the doorstep with you- -I could feel your anguish, because I've been there. Your poem is excellent, and the ending wrenched at my heartstrings. Well done.
