Yearning Eyes Poem by Puja Chakraborty

Yearning Eyes

The desire to see myself
in your eyes is strong,
Haunts me all day long,

Desire, Eating me up,
What has God written from above?

A terrible disease has seized my soul,
I yearn to catch a glimpse, to make you whole.

Your world-charming smile calls to me,
I want to lose myself, wild and free.

I try to forget, but fail each time,
Getting lost in illusions, my heart's in rhyme.

You know what I want, yet pretend not to see,
No, you're not stupid, but mature, I see.
I'm a mad lover, lost in my desire,
You are wise, with a heart that's on fire.
