Hi Shri. Nilabirdhwaja, Thank you for the appreciation. Hope you have read all the episodes of Yayati. I have started to post a new series on the story of Sunahsepha (from Ramayanam) . I invite you to read them. Thank you.
Beautifully written with your great story telling skills it unfolds capturing the imagination of the reader so vividly!
The more I read, it becomes more interesting and captivating...
Here I am to give you the 10 I promised many moons ago that the server thingee wouldn't allow me to give you at the time. So here I go to give you the 10 rating this deserves!
Hi Susan, Yes, I treasure your ten for this poem, I do. But it is your kindness to remember a promise to come back here just to give it, that is what is just wonderful. I would like to boast that it is because my poem had attracted you so much (just boasting) . Thank you once again.
For the sake of his clan he cheated on his Guru and left his wife. Makes one question if serving the men in power at the expense of your loved one and revered one is worthwhile. Men in power don't belong to anybody but power. Great presentation.
She would die if i left! Thanks for sharing this poem with us.
Such are love's tragedies thus untold Which doth increase in pain growing old Past memories of wounds unhealed Remain green like monsoon paddy fields..... Here the disciple managed to cheat his Guru and get away (even if it be after a death and rebirth) ...however, Karna's tale is even more tragic with the curse that his knowledge would fail him when he needs it most....Great interesting poem Sir...
I am an outcast And cast out in the sea with no shores! The curse of love denied! ......... Brilliant! We'll eventually be the outcast of fate.
Well narrated. Particularly poetic are these which I liked most: Her frail body Every inch of which bore Marks of my lips, quivered I am an outcast And cast out in the sea with no shores! The curse of love denied!
This is the definition of epic! ! ! ! It is majestic, it is so very human in its appeal, it had that storyteller's asset- -want to readoon to see What Happens Nextm! ! ! ! ! ! ! Since the page to give you a 10 is not working at this time. I will return to try to give you a 10.
This poem is felt as the fresh wind rush and flow of mental light. interconnection of mantra, soul and body, sharp shame of bad deed and saint punishment. I enjoyed it! ! !
Liza, Thank you so much for your valuable time and more valuable appreciation. More to come in the series. Pl read on.
well depicted the epics, in a simple language and insight of the characters is a marvelous work, thanks for the share
Thanks a lot Saraswathy. Appreciate Your time and kind words. You are great inspiration for me.
Another intriguing tale. From the pinnacle of glory to the expulsion, the journey is not long. A thoroughly gripping write that relates the adventures of a man proud to be the chosen one, only to be an outcast in the end. A metaphor for life, this legend depicts the unpredictability of life.
Yes, Nosheen! This is what everybody has in store in life! Gratitude is only a word you find in the lexicon. Life is decorated with ungrateful, shifting loyalties. And this story is from Mahabharat. It has been told and retold many times. There is very famous and acclaimed novel by V S Khandekar, (written in Marathi) , for which he won the Bharattey Jnan Peeth Award, quite deservingly. But I thought, it needs a fairly different treatment. I am just trying it. A series of poems. Each as a soliloquy by each different character. It has to be a series of five or six poems. The first two you have seen. Let us see what comes next. My mind is still working on the next one. Your appreciating words give me the much needed encouragement. Thank you.
As i completed the series 2, i just jumped into the next series before commenting.that much simply and nicely you narrated it.
