I agree with the idea back of this; that beliefs, rituals, catechisms are useful tools when used right, and not allowed to destroy the fabric of free minds and creative thinking. Great job on writing it too.
This is not only poetic, but educational. If only more people would realize this the world would be a better place.
A very good insight on how and what to stand for in terms of religious beliefs and practices. There must be the respect for each and everyone's ideals. Tolerance and openess of spirits are the essences of peace in this world. There is no good and bad religions. There are only good people and bad people. A very good poem in our actual world...Thanks for sharing.
nice poem on religious teaching and reflection of ones spiritual life.
Yes! It is quite deplorable when a religion, which is supposed to bring peace and spirituality is used for control and power. I've seen many times over religion being used as an excuse for war, racism and homophobia. It hurts my heart to see people treat each other in such a manner.
Another great lesson, Hans. Words of wisdom and guidance for those who would heed. Thank you.
A good poem, we all have some kind of faith, But sometimes we forget. A great write.
BRAVO! We share a belief that there are great things written across the ages, across the religious divides that have led to the deaths of millions over the centuries. The violence advocated in books such as the bible are not the word of some omnipotent, ' all-loving deity. They are the sad, deranged rantings of sick individuals. I am a humanist. I believe in people and their intrinsic goodness. Great write.
