A powerful message in just three potent lines! The message is discouraging but needs to be heeded. Thanks to poet Susan Williams for her various interpretations of the poem and for tracing out the definition of 'xenotropic' - 'replicating or reproducing only in cells other than those of the host species', which I failed to find out from the dictionary.
thanks for your narcissistic comment I DON'T GET ANY COMMENTS OR REPLIES PH DOESN'T SAY SO WHY LEMON UR GREAT GUY
Is wishful thinking (or even hope) narcissism? ? And those comments do come! Thanks, amazing Poet!
congrats u r the most well read shortest poem charisma across the internet
Then again maybe the wolf is the deadly corona-virus and we are the host and we're going to die because people can't read the instructions on a package of masks....
PART SiX- - I am giving this top marks and putting it in my fav list so ''''''''''''''''''''''' I cab read it again when my brain is awake. Top top marks! ! ! I wonder how far off the mark I am in my translation of this gem of a poem
Thank you, Susan. You have so many invaluable observations. They all work.
PART FOUR. In conclusion, I am going to personally translate this gorgeous Senryu to be about trying to communicate morality to trump and his pack of trumpees and since they are herd creatures seeking more territory to dominate, and since they are cold-blooded predators- the world is toast.
Brilliant! I like every interpretation you've come up with. This one really does make sense in and for today's world. Perhaps every state has its 'herd creatures' at the helm.
PART THREE. Wolves must be a metaphor for... people who are wild, outside the law, fierce and frightening- -almost a different species from mankind who wishes to be man-KIND. So- -my revered author is writing something important for the wolves in society to read and consider and absorb into their character BUT they cannot read [ cannot understand because their mind and heart are utterly frozen and untouchable] so they grow and grow in number and take over the world.
Part Two. Well, not so much Aha! ! ! I am brain dead this morning. I see the other commentators were not brain dead. " I wrote for the wolves" ..... so.... You are a writer [an excellent one by the way] and you wrote something for the wolves- -wolves- - those outlying creatures who run in the forest outside the city seeking sustenance, wild, fierce, quick and agile, dangerous.
Part One. I had to look up xenotropic and found its definition- - -> replicating or reproducing only in cells other than those of the host species- -also- - - > Xenotropic definition: (of a virus) able to replicate only in a different animal species from the host. Aha! |
Human indisguise, wolf in nature Tame in wilderness If illiterate blind the sight Put your mind for them to see Your voice!
That's is right. And I'll not try any other medium. A common behavior. .. Very nice poem dear
Thank you so much Kostas, LeeAnn. And Richard, I did have Starry Starry Night in mind when I finished this poem...than you so much, Richard.
The wolf in you was eager to feed those who were starving for intelligence. Unfortunately, they weren't ready to hear what you had to say. Of course not, M.J.... you're a pioneer!
I feel this way also. Bravo! Check out my poem, The New Eden, and comment. It might leave you hopeful
A very brutal and somber work, its power comes from being direct and potent. I looked up xenotropic and the word is fitting for the piece and for the current american electoral body. Its a very brutal and clever poem, it hits home well. I wish I had written it!
Thank you so very much, Kevin. And I can't tell you how many times I've been moved by your work. Thanks again.
