Thanks for your poem and your note on sadness.I think God has created all these feelings for a purpose and we should live through them. One thing I do not understand- - - - - -X or Y.

Many thanks for the comment. When I first started posting poems in PoemHunter, the only list available to us was an alphabethical list. As we move through the months and years, the style and content of our poems tends to change a bit, so I wanted my poems to be at least to a certain extent in chronological order of writing them (adding them) . By adding an X in front, my numbers 20-40 were all listed behind my first twenty. Then Y, and the more dots, the later they come in alphabetical order. Now this has become a bit redundant since the website has provided the option to list our poems according to date added. But along the way, I started to recognize my own poems by this small hallmark of Y (all my later poems starting with Y) .

Enjoyed this self reflection and keen observation. No one knows oneself like self does.

Bitter sweet emotion at times is a necessary part of life, perfectly normal, especially when you're young. The most important thing is that your poem captures this spirit very well.....(apart from the multiple sadnesses...) .but that's not a critic...it's your poem, not mine. I wrote a similar one in the 70's and share it with you, we are all liked up like a chain to one another, and we all borrow from each other. Panmelys A Little Sad I feel a little sad today The sky outside looks down at me As if to sympathize She's even dressed in her drabbest grey And there are tears in her eyes. I wish I could cry like the heaven's do When I feel low and don't know why I cup my face within my hands And sit in dreamy melancholy Thinking of nothing in particular. I only know that it's not bad To feel at times, a little sad. Panmelys

Your poet's note is spot on! Without sadness we would not know the wonderfulness of feeling happy! A good cry can also be very cleansing!
