Wrong Choice? Poem by Ray Hansell

Wrong Choice?

It seems her life is a lie
She doesn't know why, she even tries

She lives with someone in a home
But most times feels all alone

She feels like love left years ago
Affection for her he doesn't show

The lust, passion and desire
It just seems like there's no more fire

What once burned hot, long ago
Today there's not even a glow

It's not to say she hasn't tried
But what hurts most are the lies

He says, he cares and wants to stay
She like to try things another way

The words "I love you" are often heard
But actions speak louder then words

The act of love is over fast
A loving passion should always last

Lay in bed and hold her close
Let her know she means the most

But when the loving itself is over fast
How can anything else really last

She wishes he could make her feel
That the words he speaks are real

Then she'll believe what he has to say
When he say's "I love you" everyday

But it seems the good only lasts so long
She wonders if her choice was wrong

She thinks, could the one who's right for be
Be someone else that I can't see?

Could there be a man out there
To lead me from my despair?

Or, has her life already been cast
Her unhappiness to always last

She knows that only time will tell
If she finds heaven or, remains in hell
