These two lines haunt me, dear friend. There are all kinds of murder that can be done to people that leaves them still alive.
That old adage about sticks and stones- -words flay our peace of mind, our golden moments, our sense of self, our unity with our brothers and sisters- - you have captured these feelings in your poem. Well done.10++++
I shall express my appreciation in two simple words......Pithy and profound!
What a perfect way to sum up being hurt by someone! Absolutely brilliant!
with a little (or a lot) of luck, the pieces will fall upon fertile ground, be nourished by whatever nourishes pieces of dreams, AND become dreams once more for you and him and her. but! i hope they are all 'nice' dreams! bri :)
True. Words can make or break. Their power is immense. The relation between words and feelings is very strong which these lines beautifully bring out. Brief but weighty.
Your poem brought an image to mind of dreams being blown by hurricane force winds! Been hurt by others words before also. Thank you for sharing. RoseAnn
I have experience of having my dreams cut into pieces, I can relate to this write as you tell it as it is in your own beautiful way!
Short and Sweet two liner poem. Just like this poem, it takes no time to cut the dreams into pieces and scatter them in wind. A beautiful presentation on painful reality. Loved reading it.
Howard Simon is capable of describing in two lines and twelve words that needs a long poem to describe.
Wounded is not killed and Scattered is not shattered. Get a dream catcher and recover what is yours. Short but sweet poem.
These powerful letters pieced together can cause so much heartache and pain. There are times when we have all said words we wished we had never uttered. Your wound is felt in these few words. Thank You Howard
