[I thought I submitted a comment just now. Maybe I didn't hit the code.[ Asth, this is beautiful. I have no idea if it's autobiographical, but there is sharp yearning throughout this piece, especially in the last eight lines. I just have one suggestion. Of course, you can dismiss it! Would you consider changing strucked to to struck in line 4? As it is, it's a bit of a distraction from the lovely lines that follow. At first, I thought it was a typo.

Heartrending, lovely poem. I don't know if this is autobiographical or not, but the plaintive notes in the last eight lines are deeply moving. May I just offer one suggestion? Of course, disregard it if you will. Consider changing stroked to struck, I know what you were doing there, but at first I thought it was a typo, and it dragged my eye back and forth. So it was a bit of a distraction from the lovely lines that followed.
