Ignoring Apollo Of antiquity's Gods I know little, And yet somehow feel fit as a fiddle, God of poems and plague (Though connection's quite vague!) , But real life seems to rest in the middle.
Hi. What essential tasks can a poet still perform? I like this line the most in your poem. I just couldn't find a relation between the theme and title. But generally, the poem was cool. Thanks.
There are many beautiful things we sometimes take for granted are there not? ...you remind people to stop and take in the beauty that is right in front of them. Very nice Daniel
Your last stanza: 'Universal love Flows outward In ceaseless waves of LIGHT' Is quite beautiful and true to me. As I read this poem I could see the Earth turning and the first rays of sunshine slowly embracing our world. Your poem is very beautiful. Nice work. -SOH
A poet is the keenest and the most focussed observer of everything happening around him. The first rays of light that fall and illumine the Earth illumine his heart too. Who else can see the steady flow of love descending down in sunbeams or in the light that kisses the Earth? Every pursuit if started with an invocation to a power beyond us, is believed to fill us with a fresh energy. This invocation to Apollo, the god of Music is in a way very appropriate for a poet. Sun is also identified with Apollo. The fact that the poet watching the early dawn when the sun dispels darkness from the face of the Earth is making this prayer adds greater wider dimensions to this as Sun is Apollo himself! A beautiful invocation!
A gentle journey through time and space...floating as in trance...
