Words of praise, sweet to ear,
All the world likes to hear,
Sing your words thence like birds,
No miser, use sweet words,
Be of speech never poor.

priya vākya pradānena sarve tuśhyanti jantavah |
tasmāt tat eva vaktavyam vachane kā daridratā ||

priya-vākya: words of praise, pleasing words palatable; pradānena: by giving, offering;
sarve: all, everyone; tuśhyanti: feel satisfied, feel happy; jantavah:living beings, all life alive; tasmāt: therefore; tat eva: that (words of praise)only; vaktavyam: should be uttered/spoken; vachane: in words; kā: why, what use; daridratā: poverty, miserliness?

We should speak sweetly and smilingly. Vachane kā daridratā. Be no miser of words, / What avail poverty of speech, dear? You have so nicely presented this poem having good translation. Thanks for sharing.
